This lovely hike can be found in San Luis Obisbo, California (‘SLO Town’ for the swank). Oprah dubbed the city ‘the happiest place in America’ citing its beautiful downtown, the friendly people, its surrounding vineyards, and the laid-back outdoor lifestyle.
Adults only this trip!
In the heart of downtown SLO there is a lovely little gem called Granada Hotel and Bistro. Pictures online are stunning, and yelp reviews are stellar. They offer complimentary bike rentals, a rooftop patio for yummy beverages, a bistro, AND a spa (little cherry on top). Arrive Thursday and walk over to the SLO farmer’s market which some claim it to be the best in America!
One of you like brew? Check out the Chai Ale (intriguing) at Central Coast Brewing. Or discover your inner Picasso with a tasty beverage at Art Bar. Beaches, you say!I SLO is 15 minutes from Pismo Beach, 12 minutes from Morro Bay and 15 minutes from Avila Beach. Get your paddleboarding on at Avila Beach Paddlesports. Beaches and WINE, you say! No car, no problem; leave the drinking to you and the driving to The Wine Wrangler. They can set you up with a day tour that features 4-6 vineyards in the area. Or maybe your in the mood for a little adventure with your wine, Margarita Adventures has figured out a way to combine zip lining and wine tasting. Sweet! And when you are all done drinking and adventuring, check out downtown shops Ruby Rose or consignment shops Finders Keepers or Curio.
Kids are coming with us, what’s in it for them?!
Kids tiny pints, still? Check out the local children’s museum or leave your mark at Bubblegum Alley. Haul them up Bishop’s Peak and they’ll complain, but reward them with tasty treat from Rocket Fizz, Cowboy Cookie and Grub or Batch. Been to a drive inn movie lately? Check out Sunset Drive-Inn and take the kids out for donuts the next morning.
Hoping these tidbits come in handy for your travels. I’m also happy to do more digging based on your interests. Happy travels, lovebirds! ❤
